Yes yes, I know it\u2019s also Valentine\u2019s Day \u2013 but let\u2019s ignore that one for the moment because really \u2013 everybody knows about Valentine\u2019s Day already, but who knew it was International Book Giving Day?<\/p>\n<p>So I was thinking\u2026 if you\u2019ve got some books that you have outgrown or finished reading or simply don\u2019t have space for anymore \u2013 maybe you could drop them off at the Addie offices and they could give them to kids or schools that don\u2019t have lots of books.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t you think that\u2019s an awesome idea?<\/p>\n<p>And they do not have to be only children\u2019s books \u2013 maybe your parental agents (aka your mom \/dad guardian \/ whoever) have novels or other books that they would be prepared to give away too.<\/p>\n<p>Or\u2026 your school or church could organise a book drive \u2013 collect up lots of books and pass them over to people who don\u2019t have books of their own.<\/p>\n<p>Or you could donate some books to the local hospital.<\/p>\n<p>If you think of a clever idea of who and how to donate books to \u2013 email me quickly (<a href=\"mailto:sibo@sibo.co.za\">sibo@sibo.co.za<\/a>) and let me know so that we can share it with everybody else\u2026 in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Yes! That\u2019s what \u201cInternational\u201d means \u2013 it means that the whole world is going to be giving books on the 14<sup>th<\/sup> of February.<\/p>\n<p>The thought of living in a world without books gives me the heebie-jeebies (remember \u2013 that\u2019s the word we learnt last week).\u00a0 Sad to say though \u2013 too many children in South Africa don\u2019t own a single book of their own.<\/p>\n<p>We can all make a difference to somebody\u2019s life and give a book.<\/p>\n<p>Or maybe you are one of the people who do not have a book of your own. Just think &#8211; you might be able to get one on the 14<sup>th<\/sup> February.<\/p>\n<p>If you are feeling really generous, you can buy a brand new book and donate it to somebody who needs it. Ginny is going to do this.
