(<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sibo.co.za\/index.php\/2018\/08\/24\/circle-of-life\/\">Circle of Life,<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sibo.co.za\/index.php\/2018\/08\/17\/posing-for-power\/\">Power posing<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sibo.co.za\/index.php\/2018\/08\/08\/health-tips-for-women\/\">Health Tips for Women<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sibo.co.za\/index.php\/2018\/08\/08\/with-compliments\/\">With Compliments<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Often we simply look at things the wrong way. It\u2019s so easy to be fed up and miffed with somebody or something and let it spoil our day. It\u2019s also easy to brood and let things fester and before we know it, something relatively little has turned into a great huge monster that discolours life in general.<\/p>\n<p>Not only our lives, but those around us!<\/p>\n<p>Here are a couple of easy methods that will help kick those gloomy habits.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Start a gratitude journal.<\/strong><br \/>\nIt does not have to be a fancy one; get an exercise book and decorate the cover. Write down five things that you\u2019re grateful for every day. This way one starts thinking (and acting) positively, looking for the good in life. It\u2019s a well-known fact that having a positive attitude increases one\u2019s happiness. Let\u2019s face it \u2013 it\u2019s hard to be depressed or stressed if you\u2019re a happy-chappy, right?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Replace the word \u2018<em>have<\/em>\u2019 with \u2018<em>get<\/em>\u2019<\/strong>.<br \/>\nSounds crazy but it makes a person see things in a different light. Instead of having to go to school or work, we get to go to school or work. This means we are fortunate to do so \u2013 many people don\u2019t have jobs or would love to be able to go to work. Saying \u201cI get to go to school\u2019 means I\u2019m able to learn and get somewhere in life. Even saying I get to go grocery shopping, implies that you have the money to do it, which is great.<\/li>\n<li><b>Walk away from whingy whiny\u00a0people.<\/b><br \/>\nFolk who complain all the time drag us down too. If you can\u2019t walk away, then don\u2019t agree with them and validate their feelings.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Breathe!<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is an easy one, but requires us to focus on how we do it. Often we find that we tend to stop breathing when concentrating, or we breathe in a shallow manner. Take deep breathes people. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Start with breathing in to the count of five, and breathing out again to the count of five and gradually increase the count. Oxygenating our bodies properly relieves stress, helps with pain and just generally makes one feel better. Try it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>YOU have total control over YOUR thoughts and actions!<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a change of mind-set people.
